Your Private Keyis your secret. It's the only thing in the world that can produce your unique digital signature. When you sign a copyright notice, a portfolio, or an NFT, your private key creates a cryptographic signature that is mathematically unique to both you and the exact contents of that document. Nobody else can produce this signature, and nobody can fake it — not even us.

Your Public Key is the proof you share with the world. You give it to anyone who needs to verify that you actually signed something. They feed your public key, your signature, and the original document into a standard verification algorithm, and it returns a simple yes or no — either you signed it or you didn't. No passwords, no accounts, no middleman required.

Why you need them as a creator: Every artifact, document, and portfolio you sign on Puddingify — copyright takedown notices, portfolio metadata, NFT certificates — requires your private key to prove it came from you. Without a digital signature, a copyright notice is just a document anyone could have typed up. With one, it's cryptographically tied to your identity in a way that cannot be forged, altered, or denied. This is what gives your documents legal weight and makes them tamper-proof.

Your private key file contains a metadata header with your alias, email address, and creation date alongside the actual cryptographic key. Unlike a simple label, this metadata is cryptographically bound to your key pair — making it impossible to forge, swap, or replicate.

How the binding works:

During registration, the system combines four pieces of data into a single string: your alias, your email, your exact creation timestamp (down to the millisecond), and your full public key. This combined string is then run through SHA-256, a one-way cryptographic hash function, producing a unique 64-character binding hash. Changing even a single character in any of those four inputs — a different alias, a different email, a different timestamp, or a different key — produces a completely different hash. There is no way to reverse-engineer or predict the output.

Why an imposter cannot replicate it:

To produce the same binding hash, an attacker would need to match all four inputs exactly: the alias (which Puddingify will not reissue), the email (which Puddingify will not reissue), the precise millisecond-level creation timestamp, and the exact same public key. Since generating a new key pair always produces a different public key, and Puddingify enforces unique aliases and emails, no combination of inputs available to an imposter can reproduce the hash.

The signature layer:

The binding hash is then digitally signed using your private key. This creates a mathematical proof that only the holder of this specific private key could have created this specific binding. Anyone can verify this signature using your public key — but no one can produce it without possessing your private key.

The server anchor:

A copy of the binding hash is stored on Puddingify's servers at the moment of registration, providing an independent third-party record. If someone presented a private key file with tampered metadata, the binding hash would not match the server's record — and the forgery would be instantly detected.

In practical terms, this means your private key file is not just a cryptographic tool with a name tag on it — it is a verifiably authentic identity document where your alias, email, and key are permanently, cryptographically, and provably linked together from the moment of creation.

Because all other timestamped assets are linked to this identity, protecting and verifying your registration timestamp is essential.
3. Portfolio Collections: When you publish a portfolio collection, Sectigo timestamps the record — establishing independent proof of the collection's existence and authorship at that point in time.
4. Music NFTs: Music tracks and releases minted as NFTs on Puddingify are timestamped by Sectigo, creating a permanent, verifiable record of the original creation date tied directly to your verified creator identity.
5. Film NFTs: Film works and video content minted as NFTs receive the same Sectigo timestamp protection — establishing provenance and authorship that is independently verifiable outside of Puddingify.
